I was listening to my BC92XLT today when it started acting real goofy. It never did what it did today and the radio has provided problem free service for the last 3 years. I was monitoring a fire call in my county and fire dispatch frequency (460.600) was active. All at once that fire dispatch frequency was coming in loud and clear on every frequency that i had programmed that was in the 453MHz and 460MHz bands. It was coming in on 453.125 and 460.025 and all frequencies in between. I have heard of scanners "freezing" , but never anything like this. I did a complete reset as per the manual ( press 2, 9 and HOLD and turn on) I then reprogrammed some frequencies and then it wouldn't receive anything at all. There was radio traffic that i was hearing on my other scanner, but not this one. So i did the reset again and left it off for a few mins and reprogrammed it again and this time everything seemed to work fine. Anyone have any idea what may have happened and what caused it?

Was this the scanner that had the dead batteries? BTW, some of the good chargers have a reconditioning cycle that will revive dead batteries.

No this one actually is being used with the plug adapter and no batteries. I saved the batteries i was having trouble with and may have to check into the reconditioning
