It deals with the privacy act passed in 1993 and inacted in 1996. Makes it against the law to listen to any cell call. The gov. must have a warrent to listen also,BUT the are agencies that do listen no matter what. CIA,NAS, and now dept. of Homeland security.

For the amount you would pay for a digital decoder it would be cheaper to buy a new digital scanner.

Those recent laws (93-96) were just political B/S buy the cell phone industry to help sales. There are laws already on the books to protect cell phone and all other communications.

It is Illegal to listen to cell phone conversations Under the Pa. Law: even perhaps toughest law in the states; forbids even law enforcement to do this, as far the the Federal Government it can only be done with a "Federal Warrent" to do so from a Federal judge... go to this link (http://www.ncsl.org/default.aspx?tabid=13492#State) and pull up your state to see the answer!

Well, there really is no way unless you go and tell people you are doing so, and if you tell the right person it is possible for this to get to the right authority, and in turn they (the authority) may set you up by saying something on the cell phones, and what for the info to get back to them. If you are going to listen to the cell calls “Say Nothing to No One!”

Not sure why anyone would want to waste time listening to cell or cordless phones anyway. I can think of better things to listen to
