Right now i have 2 scanners in my "comm center"( as my neighbor calls it) I have a BC895XLT which i have all of the surrounding county frequencies programmed in and i have a BC560XLT which i have my home county frequencies in. I noticed that many of our site members have multiple scanners in their "comm centers" I was thinking of adding another scanner or 2 to my set up. My question is: Do most of you who have multiple scanners have a scanner for each County in your area.? In my area almost all of the counties operate on conventional non-trunked , non digital frequencies with the exception of Centre Co. I was thinking of adding a scanner just for 1 or 2 counties frequencies only . ( maybe one for Clearfield and Cambria Co.) I have room on my homemade antenna tower to add another antenna or 2 if needed. Just was interested how everyone utilizes their setups with multiple scanners. I know some of you have scanners for trunked and digital systems in your areas and that is a reason for the multiple radios. If i could i'd love to have 15 or 20 radios in my setup ;D ;D ;D

15 or 20 radios, are you out of your mind ? LOL I have 3 scanners and 2 amateur radios (1 VHF/UHF & 1 high frequency 160 - 10 meters) and that gets crazy after a couple of hours, unless the weather gets crazy with accidents and such, then it only takes about a hour to make me turn a couple of them down.and Jeremy,I didn't see where you were going to add any amateur radios so you can talk to Tony and me ,right Tony LOLOL

At WNEP we had 2 scanners going. One with an antenna on the roof of the building for 'local" comms and then a remote controlled one at our xmitter site. When our tower collapsed it took out the remote scanner.

I have 3 going at all times. But the scanners I use I put fire in the first bank then police/local and state. Then my security bank, then ems/lifeflight and EMS primary. Then I just use another for other countys. I seldom put on other countys unless its quite around here. My Bc-780xlt is scanning everything and my Bc-890 is on fire bank only and the Bc-895 is scanning police bank only. I program all my scanners the same to keep programming easy. Its a little hard when bank set up are different sizes. I also use the Bc-895 as the main other county radio just because of the reception!

Since I don't live up there anymore. I use to have one high band bearcat which I don't remember what model it was, of course I had my Kenwood TK290 portable and my mobile unit.
Living down here all I have is my truntracker2050, I monitor the Sheriffs and fire/ems on my computer. I think it's nice that they put it out on the computers.

Ok thanks for the info. I kinda have mine set up similar. My BC895XLT is programmed with all the local and surrounding counties frequencies. Also i have it set for monitoring the Centre Co Trunked system, however i don't listen to Centre Co much unless i hear of a major incident going on there. I have another handheld scanner which i think i might program another counties frequencies and have it ready to listen to when something occurs there. I agree that with all of them on plus my Uniden Washington C.B. radio it may drive me nuts! Regarding the Amateur radio: I have thought about getting into that as well. Right now i enjoy the scanning and listening to it on the scanner, but never have got the urge to take the necessary exams for that.

a remote controlled one at our xmitter site. When our tower collapsed it took out the remote scanner. How do you do that? It must get pretty good coverage? What do you all have programmed in there?
